HEURBEFORELPGPUEFFORT

Description
Effort dial to control the effort spent inside the selected GPU heuristic method. If a GPU-accelerated heuristic method has been selected, this control can be used to increase or decrease the overall effort spent by the heuristic. For the heuristic enabled by setting HEURBEFORELPGPUMETHOD to XPRS_HEURBEFORELPGPUMETHOD_FEASPUMP, the effort parameter controls the iterations spent inside the primal-dual hybrid gradient algorithm.
Type
Double
Topic areas
Values
-2
Run with (almost) no effort limit. This can be useful for evaluating whether the heuristic can find a solution without practical working limits
-1
Automatic choice of effort.
0
Disable GPU heuristics.
(0,100]
Dial the effort for the GPU heuristic by setting a value > 1.0, limit the search effort by setting a value < 1.0.
Default value
-1
Notes
For the feasibility pump heuristic (enabled via HEURBEFORELPGPUMETHOD =XPRS_HEURBEFORELPGPUMETHOD_FEASPUMP), the effort is mainly limited by an iteration limit for the primal-dual hybrid gradient algorithm. The automatic setting -1.0 is equivalent to the value 1.0 unless the user specified a value for BARHGMAXRESTARTS, which is then used as iteration limit for each LP solved by the heuristic.
