HEURSEARCHSTRATEGY
|
Description
|
Meta strategy control for large neighborhood search (LNS) heuristics. When set to a value other than automatic, it determines the frequency and effort of all LNS heuristics whose individual strategy control is set to automatic. Individual heuristic strategy controls take precedence over this setting.

Notes
|
Each individual LNS heuristic control has a special value
XPRS_HEURSEARCHSTRATEGY_AUTOENFORCED, which can be set to ignore the value of this meta control and force the default behavior for the heuristic.
At a moderate strategy, the LNS heuristics obey any user-specified value for
HEURSEARCHROOTCUTFREQ and/or
HEURSEARCHFREQ exactly. However, setting an LNS heuristic to a conservative (aggressive) strategy will lead to a less (more) frequent execution during the root cut loop and/or during the tree search than mandated by the frequency controls.
