Founder & CEO of Udacity and Google X Labs
Sebastian Thrun is CEO of Udacity, an online private educational organization. He was a Google Fellow and VP, and a Research Professor at Stanford University. He has published over 370 scientific papers and 11 books, and he is a member of the National Academy of Engineering in the US. Fast Company named Thrun the fifth most creative person in business, and Foreign Policy touted him Global Thinker #4. Thrun works on revolutionizing all of transportation, education, and mobile devices. At Google, he founded Google X, and led the development of the Google self-driving car. Thrun is also known for his work on probabilistic programming techniques in robotics, with applications including robotic mapping. In recognition of his contributions, and at age 39, Thrun was elected into the National Academy.
Chess Grandmaster and Expert on Human-Machine Collaboration
Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, in the Soviet Union in 1963, Garry Kasparov came to international fame at the age of 22 as the youngest world chess champion in history in 1985. Kasparov broke Bobby Fischer’s rating record in 1990 and his own peak rating record remained unbroken until 2013. Kasparov is a pioneering figure in computer chess, most famously for his two matches against the IBM super-computer Deep Blue in 1996 and 1997. Since 2007, he has researched and collaborated with many high-tech luminaries and companies on human-machine cooperation, the economic consequences of tech stagnation, and the future of intelligent machines. Kasparov has been a contributing editor to The Wall Street Journal since 1991 and is a regular commentator on politics and human rights. He is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Oxford-Martin School with a focus on human-machine collaboration. He’s a member of the executive advisory board of the Foundation for Responsible Robotics and a Security Ambassador for Avast Software, where he discusses cybersecurity and the digital future.
Chief Executive Officer, FICO
A 30-year veteran of the technology industry, William Lansing most recently served as CEO and president of InfoSpace, a position he held from February 2009 to November 2010. Previously, he served as CEO and president of ValueVision Media. Mr. Lansing also served as a partner of General Atlantic Partners, a global private equity investment firm. Prior to his work at General Atlantic, Mr. Lansing served as CEO of NBC Internet, an integrated Internet media company. He has also held several leadership positions in organizations including Fingerhut Companies, General Electric, Prodigy and McKinsey & Company. Mr. Lansing has served on the board of directors of FICO since February 2006, and he has served as a director of other public companies, including Digital River and RightNow Technologies. He holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a J.D. from Georgetown University. Mr. Lansing resides in California with his wife and three children. In his off time he enjoys snowboarding, running, mountain biking, and traveling.
Executive Vice President, Sales, Services and Marketing, FICO
Wayne Huyard serves as FICO’s EVP of global sales, marketing and services. Wayne brings more than thirty years of business leadership experience from companies such as Oracle, RightNow Technologies, Cerberus Capital Management, Verizon and MCI. A proven growth leader, Wayne has created significant stakeholder value across multiple industries with success leading all business disciplines and sales channels from consumer to enterprise to government in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Wayne launched a NASDAQ-traded enterprise and pursued major public policy agendas.Wayne is well known as a motivational leader with a business-first mentality rooted in sincerity, self-awareness and drive.
Executive Vice President, Chief Product and Technology Officer, FICO
With more than 20 years of diverse management experience, Stuart Wells is a software industry veteran with a proven ability to catalyze and commercialize innovative technologies. At FICO, he is responsible for leading the global product and technology organization. Prior to his appointment as chief product and technology officer, he spent two years at FICO consulting on a range of projects, including leading cross-functional planning for the launch of enterprise solutions in the areas of fraud management, debt management and originations. Prior experience included senior leadership roles with Sun Microsystems, Avaya and other top technology businesses. Dr. Wells holds bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, an MBA from Santa Clara University, and a certificate from the Stanford Executive Program.
Chief Analytics Officer, FICO
Scott Zoldi is chief analytics officer at FICO responsible for the analytic development of FICO’s product and technology solutions. While at FICO, Scott has been responsible for authoring 80 analytic patents with 40 patents granted and 40 in process. Scott is actively involved in the development of new analytic products and Big Data analytics applications, many of which leverage new streaming analytic innovations such as adaptive analytics, collaborative profiling and self-calibrating analytics. Scott is most recently focused on the applications of streaming self-learning analytics for real-time detection of cyber security attacks. Scott serves on two boards of directors, Software San Diego and Cyber Center of Excellence. Scott received his Ph.D. in theoretical and computational physics from Duke University.
VP | GM, FICO Solutions, Advisory, and Specialty Sales Group
Tim VanTassel is Vice President and General Manager of FICO’s Solutions, Advisory, and Specialty Sales group. In this role he oversees a team of 250+ experts from across the globe that bring to market combined software, advisory, and analytics offerings in marketing, originations, account management, collections, optimization, customer contact services, regulatory compliance, and fraud. In addition to his global role, he also leads the United States direct sales efforts in automotive lending and telecommunications. Tim has been with FICO for 10 years, and brings 20 years of expertise in banking software and applied analytics. Prior to joining FICO, Tim worked extensively in business and technology consulting with a focus on automated underwriting strategy and loan origination systems. He began his technology career at Accenture, where he was a manager in the San Francisco office. He started his professional career as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Tim now resides in the Chicago area with his wife and daughter.
Director, Financial Services, Amazon Web Services
Philip Moyer is Director, Financial Services, Amazon Web Services. In this role, his team works with customers in banking, capital markets, insurance and payments. Prior to Amazon, Philip was a Managing Director of FinTech at Safeguard the oldest public venture capital firm. He was CEO of EDGAR Online, Co- Founder of Cassiopae, an asset-backed securitization platform, and he spent 15 years at Microsoft, building their global customer business, consulting & support businesses, and the accounting & legal verticals. He started his career as software developer for Nuclear Submarines at GE Aerospace. Philip has served on 11 company boards and 3 non-profit boards. He has been a frequent speaker and author on financial services innovation, blockchain/smart contracts, FinTech venture capital, and financial data standards (XBRL). He holds a Computer Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
