Filtering Data in Tableau Views

Because apps can contain a lot of data that you do not always want to view, filters can be set on your views to reduce the amount of data that is shown.

Filter settings may be saved when transitioning between Tableau Views, if the Insight App Companion File permits changes to be saved to the browser’s local storage. User defined filters are then maintained as the user navigates between views.

For more on how to define Tableau Global Filters in the Xpress Insight companion file, see Tableau Global Filters.

  1. Tableau view filters can be implemented by checkbox, radio buttons, drop-down lists, and sliders. Filter values, with the exception of slider values, can be configured to be saved.
  2. To remove the changes and revert the view back to the defined view, from the Action menu, select Revert Filters. This menu option is only enabled if there are changes to revert.
