Python Development Environment

FICO® Xpress Workbench provides the facility to make the necessary adjustments to your Python code, develop the Xpress Insight views, and finally publish to FICO® Xpress Insight.

If you require information on Setting up your Development Environment, and Setting up Xpress Insight and Xpress Workbench, refer to the Getting Started Section of the Xpress Insight Developers Guide.

Python installation

After downloading the Python 3.7.x or above binaries from www.python.org, run the program.
Important Ensure Python is enabled as a system PATH variable if you wish to use Python with Xpress Insight.

During installation:

  1. Select the Customize installation option.
  2. Leave the Optional Features settings at the default. Click Next.
  3. In the Advanced Options screen, select the Install for all users and Add Python the environment variables options.
  4. Click Install.
