Initializing help system before first use

Developer Prerequisites

The workflows that are managed by Decision Central should be fully developed and tested prior to beginning integration.
Developers should have experience in the following:
  • Working with Flowable for generating workflows. For more, see the Decision Central Planning and Installation Guide.
  • Working with Workflow Processes and Tasks. For more, see the Decision Central Users Guide.

Integration tasks

Deploying the Xpress Insight and Decision Central components provides the framework for an integrated solution. Before starting this procedure, complete these steps:

  • Ensure you have deployed the following to a single Solution in your DMP installation:
    • The Xpress Insight Component.
    • A Decision Central Component containing the workflow you will map Xpress Insight to.
  • Verify you have administrative access to both components.
  • Each user must be authorized to access the DMP Solution that contains both Xpress Insight and Decision Central components.
Note If you deploy the Decision Central component before the Xpress Insight component the WORKFLOW tab will be detected by Xpress Insight and displayed on the ADMIN pages. Otherwise, you must restart the Insight Component after deploying Decision Central to display the tab.

Configuration Tasks

This section will guide you through the tasks that must be performed in Decision Central and Xpress Insight to enable workflow integration.

These tasks include:
  • Creating the Decision Central Super Admin User - An integration service account assigned the Super Administrator role in Decision Central is configured with Full Access for all Decision Central workspaces.
  • Setting up Decision Central User Accounts - Users must have access to both the Xpress Insight Component and the Decision Central Component, but will only see the tabs to which they have access rights (based on their assigned user role and the access rights settings).
  • Setting up the Decision Central Workflow - The user groups, processes, and steps must be configured in your Decision Central Workflow before the workflow can be assigned. For more, see the Decision Central Administration Guide chapter on Working with Workflow Processes and Tasks.
  • Mapping Xpress Insight Apps to Decision Central workspaces - Workspaces group decision assets and their related artifacts in Decision Central to control access by individual users. Individual apps in Xpress Insight can be mapped to a workspace to enable the workflow capability provided by Decision Central.
