Initializing help system before first use

Upload the Configuration Files

The files containing the custom settings can be uploaded through a Command Prompt instruction.
The edited files can only be added to the Kubernetes cluster by a DevOps user.
  1. Open a Command window to navigate to the directory containing the edited files.
  2. Enter the following command, replacing <instanceId> with the id of the Insight instance to be configured:
    kubectl --namespace=<insert-namespace-here> create configmap xi-properties-<instanceId> --from-file=./system.properties --from-file=./logging.properties
Important Each component has its own system and logging properties. This step must be repeated for each environment when promoting a component from design to staging, and from staging to production.
