Initializing help system before first use

Uploading a Job

  1. Open the APP page and select the Upload Job tab.
  2. Configure the settings for the job. The settings are described in the previous section, for more see Upload Job tab.
  3. Jobs can be uploaded in two ways. Either:
    • Drag and drop a properly formatted problem file directly onto the page. This can be an lp, mps, svf, or zip file containing a Solve file package. Other file formats will be rejected. If the zip file does not contain the correct files, the job will fail when it starts to run.
    • Click the SELECT JOB button, select one or more lp, mps, zip, or svf files and click SELECT.
Important: The progress of the upload is displayed. Do not navigate away from the submit job page until the upload is complete unless you want to abort the upload.
  4. A link to the job queue, View Job Processing, is displayed. Click the link to display the job queue containing the submitted job(s).
If you have selected multiple files, each one is submitted as a separate solve. Multiple files are uploaded in batches of three. You may have to scroll through the upload list if you have selected many files.
Note: Xpress Insight imposes a configurable limit of 1000 jobs to the length of the job queue. For more, see Job Queue Limit in the earlier section Using the Compute Interface with Xpress.
