Post-Installation Configuration
Depending on your needs, you might need to perform any or all of the following configuration tasks:
- Integrate with MySQL. Insight can store operational data using either the file system or a MySQL database. File system storage is sufficient for use during development, but production mode requires a MySQL database. You can also integrate with a mirror database, which is used for integration with Tableau or other business intelligence software.
- Enable security features. You can protect your data by enabling security features such as HTTPS connections and encrypted passwords in configuration files.
- Configure single sign-on (SSO). Insight supports authentication using SAML for single sign-on. SAML authentication is required for production mode.
- Configure the execution environment. You can define application properties that set environment variables for model execution. If you want to run models written in Python, some environment variables are required.
- Integrate with Tableau for enhanced data visualization.
- Enable production mode. Production mode should be used for all operational installations. When this mode is enabled, SAML authentication is required, and local accounts are disabled. All user administration functions are handled by the identity provider (IdP).
