Importing Folders and Scenarios to the Scenario Manager

You can use the Scenario Manager to import folders and scenarios.

Scenarios can be exported and then re-imported after that app has been upgraded to:
  • the same app on the same server
  • the same app on a different server.
  • a different app on a different server.

There are two import methods, via the filesystem or directly via the browser. Some browsers only support uploading a limited file size, normally about 2GB. If your upload is close to that limit, use the filesystem option. There is no limit on the size of files transferred via the file system, other than the size of the available storage.

In the Scenario Manager window, above the folder list, is the IMPORT VIA UPLOAD... button that provides the option to import folders and scenarios.

  1. From the HOME page, select and open the app you wish to administer. The APP page is displayed. Within the open app you can create, copy, move (cut and paste), and delete folders.
  2. Click the Scenario Manager button to open the Scenario Manager.
  3. Click IMPORT VIA UPLOAD... to open the sub-menu.
    • Select the via browser option to upload smaller files.
    • Select via Filesystem to upload files that are 2GB and above.
  4. Navigate to the .insight file that contains exported Xpress Insight folders or scenarios.
  5. Click OPEN.
Xpress Insight imports the folders and/or scenarios and displays feedback indicating the success or failure of the operation. Any folder or scenario name that would to be duplicated by the import is suffixed with a unique number.
