Importing and Exporting

You can import and export the following objects from the system as .insight files:
  • A scenario
  • A folder and its scenarios and subfolders
  • An app and its scenarios and subfolders
  • An empty app, excluding scenarios and folders

Xpress Insight exports files to a network file system location configured for the server. An exported file can be accessed directly on the file system or downloaded by a link provided in the user interface. Insight can import files placed in the same network location or upload files via the browser.

Insight can also import files from older (4.x) versions, including a full repository export. For information on migrating data from Insight 4 to Insight 5, see the Insight 5 Installation Guide.

Note: Importing and exporting from Xpress Insight on FICO Platform uses a different user interface. For more information, see the Insight 5 FICO Platform Component Guide.

  • Tasks Dialog
    Importing or exporting an app, folder, or scenario is a background task. The tasks dialog shows the list of in-progress and completed background tasks that a user initiates.
  • Exporting Scenarios and Folders
    You can export any scenario or folder of scenarios that you have read access to. No other authority is required.
  • Importing Folders and Scenarios
    You can use the Scenario Manager to import a file containing a scenario or a folder of scenarios. You can import a file from your local system or from the configured server location.
  • Exporting Apps
    You can export an app if you are a member and you have APP_EXPORT authority. You can choose to include the current folders and scenarios of the app in the export.
  • Importing Apps
    From the Home page, you can import a file containing an exported app. You can import a file from your local system or from the configured server location.
