Configuring LDAP

The LDAP tab is used to view and maintain the integration with LDAP for user authentication and to retrieve basic user information (first name, last name, and email address). Only users with SYS_SERVER authority can access this tab.

Xpress Insight offers two levels of integration with LDAP:
  • Partial integration enables user authentication and retrieval of basic user information (first name, last name, and email address.)
  • Full integration delegates user management to the LDAP server. For more see [Updating Users From LDAP].

Only users with SYS_SERVER authority can access this tab.

Enter the settings to access the desired LDAP server using this page. This can be a standard LDAP server or Microsoft Active Directory via its LDAP interface. For more, see FICO Xpress Insight Installation Guide.

Enabling LDAP switches the authentication mechanism within Xpress Insight to use LDAP. The exception to this rule are user accounts that have the Local account field checked—these will always authenticate using the internal Xpress Insight mechanism, for more see Listing and Adding Users.
Note If LDAP and Tableau are both enabled within Xpress Insight, Xpress Insight will support user management from Xpress Insight to Tableau. This assumes that Tableau has been set-up with Active Directory.
