Events Happen In Two Parts:

Credit 101: Learn the basics of credit
All of our events begin with a general information session to give everyone a foundational understanding of how the credit system works and to set you on the right path towards scoring a better future.
1-on-1 with your new credit counselor
Not-for-profit credit counselors can help you create a road map to improve your credit based on your own unique needs and financial history. This is why we provide access to 1-on-1 counseling sessions after the information session where you and your counselor can build a personalized financial plan that fits your lifestyle and goals.

What a FICO® Score measures
A FICO® Score is a three-digit number based on the information in your credit reports. It helps lenders determine how likely you are to repay a loan. This, in turn, affects how much you can borrow, how many months you have to repay, and how much it will cost (the interest rate).
-
How lenders use FICO® Scores
FICO® Scores help lenders quickly, consistently, and objectively evaluate potential borrowers' credit risk. So, when you apply for credit or a loan, there's a very good chance your lender will use your FICO® Scores (used by 90% of top US lenders) to help them decide whether to approve your loan, and what terms and rates you qualify for.

How to improve your FICO® Score
Repairing bad credit or building credit for the first time takes patience and discipline. There is no quick way to fix a credit score. You can improve your FICO® Scores by reviewing your credit reports for inaccuracies, paying all your bills on time, and reducing the amount of debt you owe.
1-on-1 Credit Counseling Session Customized To You
Not-for-profit credit counselors can guide you on how to improve your credit based on your own unique needs and financial history. This is why we provide access to 1-on-1 counseling sessions after the information session where you and your counselor can build a personalized financial plan that fits your lifestyle and goals.
