FICO® Marketplace: A Faster Path to AI Outcomes
A B2B exchange that empowers access to data, decision assets, and pre-built solutions
Technology leaders are chasing the same goal with AI: shorter time-to-value with lower integration risk. Decisioning platforms can do the heavy lifting, but they still need a steady supply of external intelligence — market data, customer behaviors, and other insights translated by trusted providers into fit-for-purpose products. These products can be data, APIs, machine learning models, analytics, and other offerings that can plug directly into live operational workflows.
A decision intelligence platform closes the gap between supply and demand by aligning marketplace products with the runtime that executes decisions. For example, it gives teams governed access to rich sets of third-party data that drive real outcomes.
FICO® Marketplace delivers a scalable and open approach to accessing intelligent products and decision assets in FICO® Platform. It enables a curated, industry-aware catalog of decision intelligence assets with faster activation, stronger governance, and a direct line to proven partner capabilities that are ready for enterprise use. FICO Marketplace providers include LexisNexis, iPacket, Prove Identity, Mitek, Pipl, and SentiLink to name a few.
A Governed Exchange for Data, Models, and Decisions
FICO Marketplace is a B2B, industry-focused digital exchange that connects teams to API-delivered data and deployable decision products — embedded into the existing business platform. It was designed to be simple and straightforward, giving enterprises a faster, safer path to reusable components that deliver measurable impact. It delivers a governed, scalable way to connect external intelligence to operational workflows.
This means speed where it counts because decision products arrive on demand to be authored into the operational use of cases that incorporate critical business decisions.
This means confidence because products can be trialed and simulated in FICO Platform to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved.
This means control by knowing where products are used, what versions are operating, and the customer decisions they are impacting.
Under the hood, FICO Marketplace builds the composability and integrated change pipeline in FICO Platform. This combination delivers faster innovation cycles for the entire ecosystem.
For customers, FICO Marketplace’s value shows up in four ways:
Shorter time-to-value: Integrations that take weeks or months can be completed in hours when teams start with pre-provisioned decision products and guided instructions.
Fit-for-purpose solutions: Asset-based, IP-rich products that are native to FICO Platform and cover a wide range of use cases across industries, including fraud management, originations, customer management, and marketing.
Reusability: Decision products can be used by anyone in the enterprise with authorized access to FICO Platform, breaking down silos, and improving collaboration.
Governance and compliance: Transparency in how decision assets are versioned and operated reduces risk across operational workflows.
Partners can manage their own catalog of products. The ease of listing purpose-built products with instant provisioning directly in FICO Platform reduces adoption barriers and accelerates time-to-revenue, as customers can quickly try and deploy these products.
Use Case: Embedding Reusable Fraud Controls
Managing fraud is an intricate and challenging problem. Controls must be attuned to products and channels with reliable access to trusted external data sources to prevent compromise.
FICO Marketplace simplifies fraud management by providing easy access to proven solutions. Consider enterprises such as LexisNexis Risk Solutions, which use FICO Marketplace as a gateway to deliver fraud prevention solutions to FICO Platform users. Customers can use signals to enrich identity and behavioral risk decisions, such as assessing email account takeover risk events to strengthen step-up logic without adding customer friction.
As Justin Tintzman, national account manager of integration and business services at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, said in SiliconANGLE, “We have a solution in fraud intelligence that can predict if an applicant is going to be fraudulent in six to 12 months, which is very powerful stuff. All that’s going to be available within FICO Marketplace.”
Nikhil Behl, president of software at FICO, describes similar benefits in other industries. “A large global bank bypassed a projected two-year, $1.5M internal effort by adopting partner assets natively through FICO Marketplace. One North American telco is currently experimenting with adding four to five new data sources per year, and our goal is to scale their productivity by at least 3x through automation and agentic workflows.”

What FICO Marketplace Unlocks for CTOs
The business case for customers centers on three questions:
How fast can we try and validate product lift in target use cases?
How quickly can we integrate, deploy, and scale the winners across all relevant use cases in the business?
How efficiently can we repeat this cycle to stay ahead?
FICO Marketplace answers production-grade workflows that move organizations from experimentation to outcomes faster, reduce integration time through FICO Platform, and provide a consistent operating model across use cases.
Platform teams should evaluate FICO Marketplace through the lens of operating leverage over time:
Start with a use case that has clear outcome metrics and select a marketplace product with strong signal coverage and value.
Use FICO Platform’s change pipeline to run-controlled trials, then promote the winner to targeted rollout.
Treat the value process as a continuous flywheel, not a one-off pilot.
The Need for Production-Relevant Data
Decisions only create value when they act on real signals. The value of FICO Marketplace remains unproven until relevant products are discovered and tested against production data to compare against historical outcomes.
This is easy to use with FICO Platform’s simulation capability to increase the relevance of evaluation and shorten the gap between promise and impact.
Turn Ecosystem Intelligence into Measurable Impact
The benefits are clear: for domains where the strongest signals often live outside organizational walls, FICO Marketplace accelerates access to intelligence while keeping operational control in business hands.
FICO Marketplace provides on-ramps, operational guardrails, and buyer-provider alignment, while FICO Platform provides runtime, telemetry, and lifecycle control. This combination — speed, control, and leverage — will define how AI investments into durable business outcomes across every business cycle.

FICO® Score High Achievers: Is Age the Only Factor?

FICO’s latest research on national FICO® Score distribution shows that US credit quality continues to trend upwards, with an increasing number of consumers scoring in the highest scores ranges. Given that, we decided it was time to refresh our study on “FICO® Score high achievers,” where we examine the credit behavioural profiles of consumers with higher credit scores.

As expected, our latest study showed that older people generally have higher scores, as has been the case in our past research. This is largely because they have trade lines that have been open longer, which leads to higher scores (assuming the trade lines are in good standing and all other things equal). The most credit savvy among you will remember that length of credit history accounts for roughly 15% of the overall FICO® Score calculation.

But for younger consumers, it isn’t too helpful to say, “just wait until you are 50 years old, and that will fix things!” Thus, I decided to dive deeper with our analysis, including looking at the credit behavioural characteristics of younger consumers with high FICO® Scores.

In this analysis, I looked at credit characteristics for the two highest score bands, 750-799 and 800-850, which have about 16% and 23% of the population, respectively. I further broke this down by looking at the characteristics of the youngest 15% in each group, which occurs at age 29 for the 750-799 group and 43 for the 800-850. We used FICO® Score 9 for our analysis, and examined typical variables of the categories that go into the make-up of the score.

Since there’s a lot to dissect in this chart, I’ll highlight a few findings that struck me:

Credit history. Higher scores are undoubtedly associated with a longer time on file. What’s striking is the higher average time on file for the 800+ group, both overall and for revolving accounts (the most common trade line). Clearly, it helps to start credit use early in life – but that’s not the sole determining factor for high scoring. The younger cohorts in both the 800+ and 750-799 groups have time on file medians significantly less than their older counterparts.

New credit. High credit scorers do, in fact, pursue new credit. We see little variation in months since last trade line opening and last inquiry among all groups observed.

Pay on time. As you might expect, the further in the past the delinquency, the higher the score – and that’s if a delinquency ever happened. 95% of the 800+ people and 72% of the 750-799 group have never been delinquent, which is a striking contrast to the 57% for the total population. The percentages for the younger groups are even higher, especially so for the 750-799ers. Collection items are also scarce for these high scorers. While 23% of the national population have collection items greater than $99, the figures are only 0.5% for the 800+ group and 3% for the 750-799 group. It is clear that, in conjunction with starting a credit file early, paying on time is a key trait of the FICO® Score high achiever.

Balance and utilization. Finally, we look at how credit is being used, focusing on revolving product use. (Since most people only have one mortgage or one auto loan, variation in instalment product figures is minimal and driven by payment history, which is near perfect for high scorers, as we’ve seen.) FICO® Score high achievers tend to have more open revolving accounts. While the % active trades and utilization are generally lower, by no means do high scorers avoid the use of credit products. What drives the difference here is the amount of available revolving credit utilized. The 800+ group is roughly 1/4 of the national median, both in total and on their highest utilized card; they also have lower balances and more cards. The 750-799 group is more active and higher utilized, but still only at 2/3 of the national figures. The young 750-799 group compensate with lower revolving balances and, as a result, lower utilization, which is in line with what we see for the 800+ group.

Benchmarks. I’d like to point out that while this study provides good benchmarks of the typical credit traits of the FICO® Score high achiever, individual credit profiles will vary widely. And keep in mind that when we sort groups of consumers as a whole by different behaviours, some results may look superficially odd. For example, the 800+ band has a longer median average open account time (128 months) than average revolving months on file (140 months).

So, what do we conclude? A huge takeaway is that high scorers don’t have too much in the way of serious delinquencies and negative public record data.

In most respects, the young 800+ people are like their peer group. They really only differ markedly in their shorter credit history and higher non-mortgage balance, both of which are a function of life stage. Our results show that you don’t have to be a credit product hermit; these high scorers have more credit cards. The takeaway is to start credit activity early and maintain well-managed and moderate usage.

In many ways, the young 750-799 people are more interesting because their age profile is much younger. Their credit characteristics differ more from their peer group, particularly in terms of length of credit history. They compensate by having almost pristine credit records and lower balances.

Ultimately, 39% of US consumers are FICO® Score high achievers, which they accomplish by following common-sense credit practices. It ain’t rocket science!
