When we launched FICO’s “Score A Better Future” program in October 2018, our main goal was to continue to expand consumer credit access through financial education. Our mantra, “Your FICO® Score today doesn’t have to be your FICO Score in the future” still holds true today. These free events are designed to demystify credit and give consumers the tools – including non-profit credit counseling – to take control of their financial health.
We recently announced our milestone 15th financial education event of this national program and we couldn’t be prouder of how much the program expanded in the last two years. And we couldn’t have done it without the support of our partners, including National Consumers League, National Urban League, Consumer Action, National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Diversified Resource Network, National Association of Women Business Owners, and Operation HOPE. We have now been to over a dozen cities across the U.S. and through our partners helped thousands of consumers get access to free educational content and nonprofit credit coaches to start building their understanding of credit and what impacts their FICO Scores.
In a collective post-event survey, 94% of attendees said that the event gave them the tools they needed to manage their finances better in the future.
While the Score A Better Future events were previously in-person, we have adapted the program during the pandemic. And while we miss the face-to-face interactions, we’re thrilled to be able to offer these events virtually. More than ever, we want to provide resources to help consumers navigate their financial futures, while ensuring everyone is able to stay healthy and safe. 92% of our attendees agreed that it's now more important than ever to learn the top factors that impact their credit score and receive access to one-on-one credit coaching.
We’re excited for the future of the program. This year, FICO will be expanding Score A Better Future to even more cities across the United States. In fact, our next virtual event will be in Chicago, Illinois on March 23rd.
We strongly believe access to financial education is vital to helping people reach their financial dreams, and we look forward to continuing to connect with people on their financial journeys.
