Romania Remains Robust in the Face of Fraud

Since our 2021 report, Romania’s losses have levelled out and continue to perform consistently in terms of both Card Present and Card Not Present fraud. CP fraud has all but disappeared, with losses only increasing by 100 RON per year. Romania is focused on fighting fraud across both consumers and business, with initiatives such as the Fight Against Fraud Department taking action against fraudulent actors and sharing intelligence with European counterparts.  

Through their continued contributions to the FICO® Falcon® Intelligence Network, our Romanian partners maintain their collaborative approach to fraud intelligence sharing and CNP fraud reduction.
